الحمد لله رب العالمين، والصلاة والسلام على سيد الأنبياء والمرسلين واله وأصحابه أجمعين أما بعد
The science of narration, collection and criticism of hadith was unknown to the world prior to the era of the Prophet ﷺ. In fact, it was due in part to the absence of such a reliable science that the messages of the former prophets became lost or distorted in the generations that followed them. Therefore, it may be said that it is largely due to the science of hadith that the final message of Islam has been preserved in it is original purity for all times. This is alluded to in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, We have revealed the Reminder, and indeed We are its protectors.” (Qur'an, 15: 9).
Currently there exists over 1000 works of Hadith, many of which are inaccessible in distant libraries of the world.
This amalgamation project is intended to facilitate research and learning into the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ at a large scale with the intention of collecting all extant hadith that have reached us from the Prophet ﷺ including all extant chains together with biographies of the narrators. This project, God Willing once completed, will make hadith research accessible in a way it has never before been possible. The age of information technology is vital in allowing such an amalgamation of gigantic proportions and it is hoped, by the Will of God, that this project will come to fruition over the many years that it may take to compile and complete such a task.
A similar task has been underway by a group of scholars under the guidance of Shaykh Mufti Taqi Uthmani; thus far, some 910 books of hadith have been collected and the first volume of has already been published.
On a similar parallel, this project will attempt a digital collection and unification. The unique aspect of this project is that, any single Hadith can be linked to a chain of transmitters, their biography, the narration's value in terms of its strength, its contradiction, its juristic and legal use, and its raison d'être of revelation; all of this and more can be accessed from a single Hadith page. Currently, this would require access to no less than a dozen publications for only one of those aspects alone.
As the project progresses, it will evolve by the advice of scholars and designers in order to facilitate the best possible and efficient manner in making this work beneficial for the Ummah. This is the advantage of the fluid nature of the web that this project attempts to leverage; one that could never be possible in a book.
Finally, we ask you for your support in this blessed work; any investment in this venture will help pay for the services and the hours, months, and years that will be required to pen the hundreds of thousands of the Most Wise Sayings of the Best of Mankind, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Your investment will go wholly and 100% towards the fees required to fund the hundreds of thousands of narrations that will be needed to be transcribed from not only published works, but unpublished manuscripts among the libraries of the world. This will be the work of not one; but the combined effort of the entire Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Be a part of this monumental endeavour. Every single person, scholar or lay, that reads or utilises the hadith on this website, will have earned a reward whose likeness will also be written for you, Insha'Allah.
